Charity

I Corinthians 13:4 "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up."

Charity is love. So let us substitute love for charity and see what it really is telling us to do.

First love is kind. Love looks for ways to build up or to be constructive. We do not destroy. We try to find ways to build up our neighbors. Romans 15:2 "Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification." Edification means to build up. In other words if you can't say something good do not say anything.

Second we need to build people's confidence through encouragement. This is where the edification comes into play. Build each other up. I Thessalonians 5:11 "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do."

Ken Blanchard said, "Catch people doing something right and tell them."

Lord Jesus today I want to be able to build up my brothers and not say things that would destroy. Amen

God bless you today.
